Biography

Ayokunle OLAWEPO, is a Professor in the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, college of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin and Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital with 24 years of University teaching, research, and administrative experiences together with 13 years of Specialist Orthopaedic and Traumatology Practice and Hospital administration.

He is the current Head of Department of Anatomy and previously served as Sub-Dean of the Faculty. His research interests include Forensic Anthropology, Physical Anthropometry, Clinical and Applied Anatomy especially relating to Orthopaedics and Traumatology. He has over seventy publications in reputable outlets such as peer-review journals, chapters in books and Editor of some books. He has supervised over 30 postgraduate dissertations. Professor Olawepo is a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria; he is a governing Council member of the West African College of Surgeons, he was Kwara State Chairman and National Executive Council member of Nigerian Medical Association, A Past President of Nigerian Orthopedic Association and a Fellow of Anatomical Society of Nigeria. He also sits on the board of several organisations and institutions.
