Dr. Misturah Adana is a dedicated medical doctor whose professional journey reflects a strong foundation in public health and a solid background in basic medical sciences. She began her career in clinical practice, where her interest in patient care naturally evolved into a deeper curiosity about the underlying mechanisms of health and disease. This curiosity eventually led her into the field of laboratory research, where she has continued to explore new frontiers in medical science.
Her primary research interest lies in the therapeutic potential of natural products. Dr Adana is passionate about understanding how phytochemicals and other bioactive compounds can be harnessed to address human health challenges, particularly in resource-constrained environments. By investigating the biological mechanisms through which natural substances influence health outcomes, her work aims to contribute to the development of affordable and accessible therapeutic options.
Currently, Dr. Adana serves as the Deputy Director at the Institute of Medical Research and Training (IMRAT), University of Ilorin. In this capacity, she combines academic responsibilities with active research and mentorship. She teaches anatomical sciences, conducts translational research, and plays a vital role in mentoring young researchers and students who aspire to careers at the intersection of clinical medicine and scientific discovery.
Dr. Adana’s work emphasizes bridging the gap between traditional medical knowledge and modern scientific innovation.
